Blogging is hard.

How do people keep up with blogs? I seem to be horrid at this thing.

But since I started my shop and have been sending business cards out with this website listed on them, I figured I should probably start putting things on here. Hopefully on a semi-regular basis.

I think my main problem is that I don't really know what I want this blog to become. At first, I was planning on it becoming a space where I could share my craft and art projects. However, most of my sewing time is spent altering and mending clothing for people and sewing up shoes for the shop. After a full day of that, I tend to find myself lounging on the couch with my husband and puppy dog. The boring life, I tell ya.

So I'm not really sure if we're going to strictly have a craft blog here. I'm keeping it open, and not labeling things yet.

Hopefully once I catch up on my work to-do list, I can find some time for some other projects. We do have a couple of Christmas-y projects lined up, plus some other news to share.

And because I can't have 2 posts in a row sans any picture, here's one showing Luna's feelings on cameras.

Hello all! I'm really hoping this blog-once-a-month thing doesn't become habit around here. Since the last time I posted, I've been busy with alterations projects, other sewing projects, family campouts and bbqs, and even a little trip down to Disney World. The end of Spring and start of Summer has been good to us. I'm still not entirely sure what direction I want to take this blog, but as of now I would like it to be a little place for me to share some thoughts, life happenings, and some sewing and art projects. I've got some post ideas written down, so be on the lookout for those the end of this week and beginning of next. I promise to try and make a bit of a schedule, and not let a month pass between posts again. Until next time!

What I sewed this week- April 24-28

(This post contains no pictures because I'm the worst and didn't take pictures of anything.) At the end of last year, my mom sent me a link on pinterest for a sewing log. It was basically a way of keeping track of what you have sewed and when and all that. I thought it was a cool idea and good for referencing back if you ever need to make something again. The link she sent me was a paper version, but I think I'm going to keep track here (Lord knows I need less paper clutter in my house right now, although I might put my favorites on paper). This week I finished working on a couple of bed skirts for someone else. They're for kids' rooms and I think they're super cute. The kids got new bedding, but of course kids bedding doesn't come with bed skirts. So they just bought an extra set of sheets and I made the skirts out of the flat sheet. (For the record, they were flamingo and shark sheets from the Pillowfort range at Target.) I think I'm official...

Boy! We found out our little bambino was a boy on new year's eve. The rest of the afternoon was spent cutting up paper and ribbon for confetti to create these poppers to share the news with family and friends. It was fun to have them make their guesses and see their faces as a shower of blue confetti rained down. Now comes the fun of cleaning and setting up the nursery space for our little dude!
